Brief
Engaged to renovate and modernise a large 350m² existing entertainment verandah and pool area, maintaining the current layout but refreshing the look with new finishes and introducing a modern resort feel. Whilst undertaking the refresh we were also asked to address the falls, drainage and water issues.
Approach
This was going to be a challenging project from the offset as the property had no machine access so all demolition and removal would be done manually. Furthermore on commencement of the removal of existing tiling around the irregular shaped pool our construction team discovered they had been laid over a previous course of tiles and an insecure footing, so after alerting the client to the variations we undertook formwork to construct a new slab, addressed falls and installed new PVC drainage, resulting in a slight change of height to the pool edge which required blending new mosaic tiling. Installed code glass fencing to give the resort style.
Outcome/Result
The owner was delighted we managed to complete the project on time despite the most adverse wet weather conditions. We delivered a spectacular glass fenced resort pool surrounded by 350m² of Travertine tiles, blending seamlessly with the entertainment verandah and front verandah and complimented with stone clad walls with planting that blended beautifully with the mature trees already in the garden.
