Avalon IV

Brief
The design intent was to create a cohesive outdoor environment that integrates the pool, entertaining spaces and surrounding landscape into a unified setting that responds to the site’s bushland character and coastal location.

Approach
The overall landscape and pool design for the Avalon Residence project was developed by Matthew Beckett of Reflective Gardens in close consultation with the client. Reflective Gardens was responsible for the primary design vision, including the layout of the pool, surrounding terraces, material selection, landscape structure and overall spatial planning. Particular focus was placed on ensuring the pool connected naturally with the home’s outdoor entertaining areas while maintaining strong visual relationships with the surrounding garden and natural environment.

Outcome/Result
Set within a lush Northern Beaches landscape, the Avalon Residence pool and landscape is designed as a refined extension of the home’s outdoor living environment. The custom concrete pool features hand-laid glass mosaic tiles that create a rich, natural water colour, complemented by limestone crazy paving and carefully detailed stonework throughout the surrounding terraces. Frameless glass safety barriers maintain uninterrupted views across the landscaped garden, while generous entry steps and integrated seating enhance the pool’s usability and comfort.

The project showcases a seamless collaboration between pool construction, tiling, landscaping and masonry trades, resulting in a highly detailed and cohesive outdoor space that reflects Reflective Gardens’ commitment to craftsmanship, material quality and thoughtful integration with the natural setting.
